Patagonia: FL Keys

It’s early September, and I just killed the motor and started poling on a Key West flat. On location for Patagonia and all around me are black tails breaking the surface, the fish are swimming into the incoming tide to feed. I grab my camera and Kat Vallilee jumps on the bow and starts stripping out line. Her fly lands within three feet of the black waving tail and the fish is all over it. One long slow strip and she was tight.
