Yeti: Keys Lobster

Lacey Kelly preps her dive gear one last time and then jumps into the current of a deep channel near Key West. Once she is under the surface, her mind wanders with the beauty of the seagrass and the reef fish. Then her focus is instantly switched when she finds what she came here for, the Florida spiny lobster. I am following her with my underwater housing in hand documenting her families story for Yeti. Lacey’s father, Wayne, has been going down to the Lower Keys since he was a small child and it has been a tradition to this day. The Kelly’s trailer down their boat every August to commercially fish for lobster and provide for their family and friends. Their hospitality and knowledge of every coral head, ledge, and hole in the Lower Keys is unmatched.
